[KHI C151 035/036 - Joyride from NS24 Dhoby Ghaut to NS21 Newton] Date filmed: 7 February 2025 Time of recording: between 1903hrs to 1909hrs Towards: (4) Jurong East, Platforms D/E Train Model: Kawasaki Heavy Industries C151 (GTO-VVVF Variant) Train Run: 443 Depot of Origin: Ulu Pandan Depot Final Destination Depot: Ulu Pandan Depot Carriage filmed at: 2035 door A4/B4 area (No. 1 end) AM/PM/Full Day: PM Peak Service (Special Slot) This video features a Kawasaki Heavy Industries (KHI) C151, trainset 035/036, which is from Ulu Pandan Depot (UPD), to serve the North-South Line (NSL) for the PM Rush Hours, from NS24 Dhoby Ghaut to NS21 Newton stations, bound for NS1 Jurong East - Platforms D/E. For the entire of the year 2026, I will be uploading backlog KHI C151s videos that I currently have, slowly releasing them day by day for nostagia purposes. Enjoy them while you can! Slow Pickup could be seen for the entire day, likely due to a power fault somewhere on Trainset 035/036 (on one of its carriages). As a result, the train did not have any regenerative braking at all when arriving into each station and had to use friction brakes which resulted in the screeching brakes. Quite surprising to see this KHI trainset up and running despite these problems, but very likely due to a shortage of trains owning to a fault near BSD which blocks BSD from deploying trains that day. Strong Motor can be heard on carriage 2035 door A1/B1 area, after overhaul works was completed for this trainset earlier on in the year. Trainset 035/036 has unfortunately been retired from the entire NSEWL network, with EMU 036 being sent for scrapping on 10th December 2025, and EMU 035 on 17th December 2025. 📲 Follow me on socials!
