This is what 3 GW of European solar cell & module manufacturing looks like. Our Deputy CEO, Dries Acke made the journey to Sicily to experience 3SUN Gigafactory in Catania. While there, we spoke with 3SUN CEO Stefano Lorenzi about what's needed to support Europe's biggest solar cell and module factory: "We need to have some mechanism… to establish a level playing field. That could be a variety of different measures, not only on CAPEX support, but on OPEX as well… to gain the time for European industry to exploit the potential of new technologies as innovators, and catch up with the Chinese."
