Arunchal Pradesh has 26 main tribes and 100+ sub tribes. This time I managed to reach a totally offbeat place in Arunachal called ‘Wakka Village’ - they call it rarest of the rare village. No tourist or outsiders have been able to make it to this place yet. And I feel fortunate to have got an opportunity to explore this village. Probably the only place in Arunachal where Monarchy still exists. Wakka Village is dominated by people from Wancho Tribe. I was invited here by the Tourism Department of Arunachal Pradesh to explore the new routes and villages they are planning to open for travellers. As I did that, I also got an opportunity to witness the Flag-Off event of the Women Biking Expedition - "ExploreBeyond" organized by the tourism department in Pasighat to spread awareness about Women's Empowerment in the state.
