PRODUCT REVIEW THE ORIGINAL BREADER BOWL AND ONION BLOSSOM MAKER ONION BLOSSOM BATTER INGREDIENT 1 1/2 Cup all purpose flour 1/3 Cup cornstarch 2 tspn paprika 2 tspn minced garlic 1 tspn salt 1 tspn pepper 24 ounces beer DIRECTIONS 1. Combine all ingredients in large bowl and stir. Batter will be very loose. SEASONED FLOUR INGREDIENTS 2 Cups all purpose flour 2 tspn garlic powder 1/2 tspn pepper 1/4 tspn cayenne pepper 4 tspn paprika DIRECTIONS 1. Combine all ingredients in a large bowl. DIPPING SAUCE INGREDIENTS 1/2 Cup mayonnaise 2 tspn creamed horseradish 3 Tbs ketchup 1/8 tspn dried italian seasonings 1/4 tspn paprika 1/4 tspn salt 1 pinch black pepper 1 pinch cayenne pepper DIRECTIONS 1. Thoroughly combine ingredients in a bowl and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes. ONION BLOSSOM DIRECTIONS 1. Cut 1/4 inch off top of medium sized onion. 2. Remove skin from onion. 3. Remove center of onion. 4. Cut onion into 12 to 16 wedges being careful not to cut through root. 5. Spread onion as much as possible with your hands. 6. Place onion in boiling water for 1 minute then place in an ice bath for 5 minutes to stop the cooking process. (This helps promote the spreading of the petals.) 7. Drain well. 8. Coat onion well in seasoned flour. 9. Dip coated onion in batter spreading petals to achieve thorough coating. 10. Coat onion a second time in seasoned flour. 11. Place onion in freezer for 30 minutes. 12. Heat vegetable oil to 400°f and add onion, petal side down, for 3 minutes. 13. Reduce heat to 350° f and flip onion . Allow to fry for 7 more minutes being watchful that onion doesn't burn. 14. Remove onion and allow to drain on paper towels. 15. Remove core of onion if possible. 16. Serve and enjoy! ;-)
