What happens to art when perfection becomes programmable? This talk begins in a moment of raw human vulnerability—standing alone on a dark stage, heart racing—before colliding with a startling reality: even that experience is beginning to be replicated by artificial intelligence. Exploring AI’s growing presence in performance, music, and visual art, the speaker contrasts flawless, tireless digital creation with the fragile imperfections that define human expression. Drawing on cultural history and present-day ethical risks, the talk asks whether AI will replace artists or reshape art itself. It confronts uncomfortable questions about originality, ownership, and truth in an age where voices, faces, and stories can be copied at scale. Ultimately, this is not a rejection of technology, but a call to protect what makes art meaningful: lived experience, emotion, and the courage to create imperfectly—because art without humanity may look real, but it cannot be real. Yuna is a 12-year-old Grade 6 student at Questfield International College who is beyond excited to take part in TEDx Questfield Intl College Youth. From a very young age, she has been passionate about everything related to theatre — from acting and singing to musicals and voice acting — a journey she began at just five years old. Since then, Yuna has performed on stage in numerous productions, bringing to life beloved characters such as Matilda from Matilda the Musical, among many others. Enthusiastic and empathetic, Yuna loves challenges and enjoys discovering new things about herself and the world around her. This year’s TEDx theme inspired her to reflect on how much AI has evolved in culture and across different fields worldwide. She is thrilled to have the opportunity to share her thoughts and ideas with the audience. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
