Hiking to the world’s second largest boiling lake in Dominica 🇩🇲 was quite the challenge

Join me on my journey to Boiling Lake Dominica 🇩🇲 It's a flooded fumarole- a volcanic vent or a crack in the Earth's crust that allows volcanic gases and steam to escape. It's the second largest boiling lake in the world with temperatures above 194°F. Dominica has 9 active volcanoes including this geothermal region. I hiked through 4 different terrains to reach the lake involving a series of inclines and declines. You cannot hike here without a guide which is mandated by the Dominican government. There are some technical areas and danger zones to be cautious of. This hike was very demanding and challenging for me but I did it!
