We are plastering the roof using mud to make it stronger so it can protect the house from heavy rain. This is a common practice in many rural villages where people repair their homes before the rainy season begins. Our houses are built using natural materials that are easily available around us. We use mud, wooden sticks, and grass to build and roof our homes. Grass roofing has been used for generations because it helps keep the house cool and protects it from rain and strong sun. After finishing the roof work, we baked an American chicken and shared a simple meal together. This is part of our daily village life where family and community come together to work and cook traditional food.
