The whole message of this book can be summed up in one simple (but life-changing) idea: Jesus is everything. Tanner argues that Christ isn’t just one topic in theology — He’s the key that unlocks all of it. If we want to understand grace, salvation, the Trinity, or even what it means to be human, we have to start with Jesus. In this video, I walk through: ✨ What it means to put Christ at the center of theology ✨ The “non-competitive” relationship between God and humanity (it’s not as scary as it sounds!) ✨ Why the Incarnation changes everything ✨ Salvation as union with Christ ✨ Grace as fully God’s work — not ours ✨ A beautiful picture of sin, restoration, and hope One of my favorite takeaways from this book is that Christianity isn’t about striving harder or trying to impress God. It’s about receiving what He has already done in Christ and letting that transform us. So freeing. So comforting. This book can be a little dense at times, but it’s deeply rich and so worth sitting with.
