After painting (top coat or cathodic dip painting), visible defects in the paint are caused by dust inclusions, for example. Until now, these had to be removed by hand. With the Autom. Finish, ASIS offers a fully automated solution for this work step. The Autom. Finish is classified into 3 processes: Defect detection, grinding, polishing. The defect detection recognizes the position, classifies the defect according to its severity and assigns the treatment program. Sanding is carried out with equipment specially designed for continuous industrial use (ASIS Spot-E-Unit). The ASIS Disc-X-Change station allows the safe and fully automatic change of sanding discs from 4 different magazines. Polishing is also done with special industrial polishing equipment (3M(TM) Servo Random Orbital Buffer). The polish is precisely dosed via the ASIS polisht dosing station PolishSup and is sprayed directly onto the surface with a spray gun. The gun sits directly on the polishing unit. This eliminates the need to pick up polishing agent at a station and the process is greatly accelerated. As with sanding, the polishing sponge change is fully automatic at the ASIS Pad-X-Change Station.
