Sydney Opera House in association with Subversus presents Liminal, a bold, new contemporary music film series featuring eight Australians artists as they create unique live performances for the screen. The Joan Sutherland Theatre stage is transformed into a 360 degree blank canvas for artists to create a visceral and intimate piece of work for audiences to watch no matter where they are. Playing with a striking kinetic set design and dramatic lighting, Sydney-based studio Subversus directs and produces this exciting new series. Together with Sydney Opera House’s world-class production team, the stage becomes a synesthetic art installation, and audiences witness tantalisingly close each artist pushing the edges of their artistic practices like never before.
