The King’s Speech The Chainbreakers are gathered, King Mathias Ceineghus had requested their presence to be set pieces in his address to the nation, the Heroes of Aknir and specially considered officers of the King at his side. Symbols of progress. King Mathias steps to the balcony and begins to speak, but something is amiss... Beginning – The Tuba heralds the king, calling attention from Aknir. A. Ceineghus begins his speech, welcoming his subjects. B. A promise is made. The Millenium War is ending, and Aknir will have seen through its founding mission. C. The capital city of Aknir shudders. Sernos begins to rise from the bay, the city flying into the sky, all its subjects unable to escape. D-F. The King’s Speech turns sinister as Ceineghus reveals his plan to send a magical wave of destruction across the country, using his newly unveiled flying fortress to tie loose ends. G-I. Cain is introduced as the Crown Prince of Aknir. J-M. Cain is filled with rage, realizing he has an early out, but his heroic integrity will not allow for unwavering genocide. He reaches the conclusion that the king must die. N. Ceineghus announces his intention to abdicate the throne at war’s end, the country listens in stunned silence. O-End. Cain addresses the nation as Crown Prince, King Ceineghus willing. The Prince denounces the Kings plan, grabbing his sword and spinning on the monarch. The piece ends with Aknir’s future in the balance.
