My next episode is still rendering - it’s not as massive an undertaking as last week’s feature-length investigation into David Woodard, but it's another pretty big one and I was gonna miss my weekly time slot, so I had to pull something out of the vaults. This episode originally aired on KPH Radio at Lewis & Clark College in spring 2022, and it’s one of the few episodes from the original Tor’s Cabinet podcast/radio show that I never remade for YouTube, because as much as I love My Immortal, I feel like the world has enough My Immortal video essays. This doesn’t bring much new to the table. I re-recorded this episode last week for a guest spot on the deadAir Records radio station (https://www.nts.live/shows/deadair-tr...) but I didn't expect to put it out as a TCOC video until, well, right now. I didn't update the script much from when I wrote it back in fall 2021, and some new information has indeed emerged - Sarah and Rachel, or "Tara and Raven Acidbath", have been definitively ruled out as potential authors (   • The Goth Girls that Tricked the Internet  ) and a truly weird new suspect has surfaced, "Toby", who probably likewise didn't write My Immortal but has one hell of a story of his own (   • The 'Author' of My Immortal Emailed Me, An...  ). I love how the two most influential Harry Potter fanfics - hell, probably the two most influential fanfics of all time - are My Immortal and HPMOR. The two genders of autism.
