"I.Am.King", an op-doc featuring the talented 8-year-old Kingston Garrett, discusses the events that inspired him to publish his first book, "Rockin' Randy'. King, who says he was inspired to create from the sheer boredom he experienced while estranged from school and friends during the COVID-19 pandemic, talks about the book and also discusses future plans. King's #iamhuntington episode has inspired a 5-part series entitled Coping with COVID Through Creativity, which explores the ways art and creativity have inspired individuals to heal from the impact of COVID-19. We are currently seeking funding/partnership for this initiative. Wish us luck!!! Kingston Adonis Garrett, an 8-year-old published author, exemplifies the potential of today’s youths when parents, educators, and the community come together in support of their artistic abilities and creative endeavors. Empowering young children strengthens the communities that they will eventually lead. King is destined for a promising future, and the support he receives from his parents and educators enables him to valiantly tap into his imaginativeness. Proverbs 22:6 states, “Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it”. Kingston, a soon-to-be 3rd-grade student at St. Joseph Catholic School, is supported by a loving family, community, and educators who prioritize his well-being, social development, creativity, and spiritual apprehension.
