🎬 Day 5 – Discovering Bishkek & Ala Archa National Park 🇰🇬 Day 5 was all about exploring the natural beauty and cultural landmarks around Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan. We started the day with a trip to Ala Archa National Park (~35 km from Bishkek, around 40 minutes by car). Here, we took an easy walk up into the mountains to enjoy breathtaking alpine views and rich Kyrgyz nature. Crystal-clear icy rivers cascade down from the mountains, flowing through ancient trees and dramatic gorges. It’s the perfect place to slow down, breathe in the fresh mountain air, observe birds and wildlife, take photos, and truly connect with nature. Back in the city, we explored some of Bishkek’s most iconic spots. 🌳 Oak Park (also known as Dubovy Park) – one of the favourite green spaces for both locals and tourists. A peaceful place right in the city centre. 🏛️ Ala-Too Square – the heart of Bishkek, where major state events and celebrations are held. ⚔️ The impressive Statue of Manas – honouring Manas, the legendary Kyrgyz hero and central figure of Kyrgyz literature. 🎶 The Kyrgyz National Philharmonic, located at the top of Rose Alley. 🔥 Victory Square & the Victory Monument (completed in 1984) – home to the eternal flame and an important memorial site where national festivals and commemorations take place, often featuring the guard of honour, Kyrgyz garrison forces, and a military band.
