Kenyan-born and South African-raised, Ben is an urban contemporary artist based in Johannesburg who has redefined creative expression through sneaker customisation and Afro-inspired art. What started as a childhood passion for drawing evolved into a bold creative journey that led him to fully pursue art in 2016 — and he hasn’t looked back since. A graduate of Boston Media House in Sandton, Ben originally studied Radio and Television Production before answering the undeniable call of visual art. Today, he is widely known for transforming sneakers, denim, murals, and unconventional canvases into powerful storytelling pieces rooted in African identity and urban culture. His style — often described as “new school Afro Art” — blends colour, movement, symbolism, and individuality, ensuring no two pieces are ever the same. Benjahmin Art has collaborated with some of the biggest brands, including Converse, Nike, Coca-Cola, Sprite, Jameson, J&B, Edgars, Nando’s, Superga, Leroy Merlin, Hansa, and many more — proving that African creativity belongs on global platforms.
