The Datach Joint Rom System is a hardware capable of scanning information from the barcodes on special trading cards, which were sold separately from the add-on. There is no traditional character select screen contained within the game, nor is a single playable character in the game usable by default, as the player had to swipe a card through the reader to send new characters and items directly into the game. Dr. Gero's sixteenth Android creation, whose template was Gevo code name Gold is an elite Red Ribbon Army soldier and the son of the Red Ribbon Army head scientist Dr. Gero and Vomi. Gevo is described as being ruthless, bold, and daring during life.[He fell to an enemy's bullet. In his affection, Dr. Gero modeled a powerful Android after him, Android 16. As he did not want to risk him being destroyed in battle, Gero deliberately programmed the Android to be non-aggressive.
