Back when cassette tapes were the norm and compact discs were being introduced , El Camino Fundamental High School had a radio station that was fun being a part of in senior year 1991. It was KYDS 91.5FM in Sacramento California. The radio club was led by Mr. Warner Seargeant who was the Radio / English instructor at ECHS. 35 years later the cassette tape I used to record this montage still worked well enough to digitize. KYDS did sports remotes for ECHS varsity football, basketball, and baseball. They also did a big remote from Cal Expo called “Good Morning Saudi Arabia” that was to help shed light on the war in the Persian Gulf in winter and spring of 1991. Plus there was an interview with Mark S Allen from FM 102 during an afternoon where the crew from CBS affiliate KXTV Channel 10’s local show called “Scratch” came by to showcase our station.
