By developing equanimity, you create a buffer between your inner peace and the external world, allowing you to respond rather than react. The first step in nurturing equanimity is cultivating awareness. You start by observing your emotions without judgment. Whenever you feel anger rising, take a moment to pause and breathe deeply.
