Join JMK. Suteja Neka (NAM founder) and PM Kardi Suteja (NAM owner/director) to explore the history of Lempad and the Lempad Pavilion at NAM (Neka Art Museum). The multi-talented Balinese maestro, I Gusti Nyoman Lempad, was born in 1862. He was a traditional Balinese painter, sculptor, and architect (also known as Undagi). Along with Rudolf Bonnet and Walter Spies, Lempad is one of the prominent artists associated with the Pita Maha Organization. The Neka Art Museum (NAM) is home to original works by I Gusti Nyoman Lempad, the majority of which were chosen by Maestro Walter Spies in the 1930s. Lempad, who left a lasting historical imprint on the growth of Balinese arts, is still regarded as one of Bali’s most important maestros today. Visit the Neka Art Museum (NAM) to learn more about Lempad and his painting.
