Glo Damansara Mall, located in the heart of Taman Tun Dr Ismail (TTDI) in Kuala Lumpur, was envisioned as a convenient shopping destination for the affluent community. Developed by Glomac Berhad, the mall opened its doors to cater to the residents of the nearby high-rise Glomac Damansara Residences and the surrounding affluent neighborhood. Strategically positioned next to the LRT station and within walking distance to 3 Damansara, Glo Damansara Mall aimed to provide a comprehensive shopping experience with a variety of retail outlets, dining options, and entertainment facilities. However, over the years, Glo Damansara Mall has faced significant challenges that have led to its decline. One of the primary factors contributing to the mall's struggles is the intense competition from nearby malls such as 1 Utama, Starling Mall, and 3 Damansara. These malls offer a wider range of amenities and attract a larger number of shoppers, drawing foot traffic away from Glo Damansara. Additionally, the overall retail landscape in Malaysia has become increasingly saturated, with numerous shopping centers competing for a limited number of consumers. This oversupply of retail space has resulted in lower occupancy rates and reduced foot traffic for many malls, including Glo Damansara. The COVID-19 pandemic further exacerbated the situation, as lockdowns and restrictions led to a significant decline in consumer spending and mall visits. Despite efforts to revitalize the mall, including hosting events and promotions, Glo Damansara Mall continues to struggle with attracting shoppers. The once-bustling corridors are now often empty, with many retail outlets closing down or relocating to more popular malls. The decline in foot traffic has also impacted the remaining tenants, making it difficult for them to sustain their businesses. In conclusion, Glo Damansara Mall's history is marked by its initial promise as a convenient shopping destination for the local community. However, the mall's decline can be attributed to intense competition, an oversaturated retail market, and the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite these challenges, the mall continues to operate, albeit with reduced foot traffic and fewer retail tenants. 00:00 - Ground Floor 01:34 - LG Floor 02:37 - 1st Floor 04:04 - 2nd Floor 05:27 - 3rd Floor 07:06 - 3A Floor 07:49 - Parking #glodamansara #ttdi #deadmall #shoppingmall #shoppingcenter
