Watch LIVE as SpaceX launches SPAINSAT NEW GENERATION II aboard Falcon 9, to Geostationary Transfer orbit from Space Launch Complex 40 (SLC-40) at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida. Spainsat NG 1 & II will replace the current Spainsat and XTAR-EUR and will have a useful life of approximately 15 years, meaning they will be fully operational until 2040. The new Spainsat NG Generation will multiply by 16 times the capacity in X and Ka military band and will add a new payload in the UHF band. 1 X payload on this launch with a total mass of 6,100 kilogrammes.
