How Babies are cooing in different languages (age 2-6 months old). Comparison. Cooing/Gooing Stage: 3 - 6 months ( 👇see bottom for (bi)multilingual KIds Cooing /Gooing specifics👇) Infants first begin 1️⃣ vocalizing by crying, followed by 2️⃣cooing and then 3️⃣vocal play. These first forms of sound production are the easiest for children to use because they contain natural, reflexive, mostly vowel sounds. Babbling is assumed to occur in all children acquiring language. . . Listening & Attention: ✨Watches face when someone talks ✨Understanding ✨Shows excitement at the sound of approaching voices . . Speech Sounds & Talk: ✨Makes vocal noises to get attention ✨Makes sounds back when talked to ✨Laughs during play ✨Babbles to self . . Social Skills: ✨Senses different emotions in a parent's voice and may ✨respond differently, e.g., smile, quieten, laugh. ✨Cries in different ways to express different needs . . . In (bi)multilingual, Kids Cooing /Gooing appears at the same time. IMO, babies coo and goo with the sounds and intonations of their native languages; however, after collecting cooing in different languages, I am not sure anymore - they all sound kinds similar at this stage. I think that parents actually recognize something similar to the words and praise babies. For instance, in the English-speaking family, people randomly recognized "hello" and burst out with happy voices and laughter. Of course, a baby who just randomly hits the target is amazed by emotional feedback. The same was in Arabian-speaking families - once the baby comes close to the word "Allah" (God), the family got ecstatic! If you want your baby start speaking emotional feedback is vitally important to a child, as well as overall facial contact (see the post about contingent response earlier) . . .
