A Quick Glimpse of the Totem Automobili GT Electric. Totem have re-created the Alfa Romeo Giulia GTA as a hand-built, modern sports car powered by electricity. The attention to detail on display with the Totem GT Electric is very impressive, seemingly finding a good balance between the originals shapely figure and a few modern additions. The end result is a car that looks like an Alfa Romeo of the 21st century. The removal of the internal combustion engine in favour of an electric motor may be an unwanted change for some, but Totem have gone to great lengths to try and ease the concern. It all starts with the six-speed manual transmission which allows the driver to row through the gears whilst the torque curve of the powertrain emulates an engine with a rev limiter. It remains to be seen if this system will be successful in bringing the experience of a fuel burning engine to the world of electric cars.
