Ruling party urges opposition to start impeachment or select new PM

새누리 두야당 국정수습에 힘써야, 민주당 정족수되면 당장 탄핵발의할 것 Over at the National Assembly,... the ruling Saenuri Party has urged the two main opposition parties to fully cooperate on resolving the crisis. The party's floor leader Chung Jin-suk said the opposition parties should select one of two possible options: take steps to start the impeachment process against the president... or recommend a new prime minister who will take control of state affairs. He stressed that the opposition should pick one and stop focusing on organizing mass demonstrations,... while turning a blind eye to the necessity of revising the Constitution. The main opposition Democratic Party of Korea says its position is that it will submit a motion to impeach President Park as soon as it secures the required number of lawmakers. Since impeachment requires the approval of two thirds of the National Assembly,... the main opposition party needs a sizable portion of the ruling party to support the motion as well. The minor opposition People's Party has stressed the importance of designating a new prime minister before the voting on impeachment. It added that the next president should deal with plans to revise the Constitution as the timing is not right at the moment.
