We Were Overwhelmed by a SURPRISE Vintage Toy Haul! LONGER WEEKLY EPISODES HERE: / @toyfederationpodcastchannel Join this channel to get access to perks: / @toyfederation COME TO OUR SHOW! BUY TICKETS TODAY! https://www.retro-toycon.com REP OUR MERCH! http://www.teepublic.com/user/toy-fed... Today on Toy Federation, we had one of the most overwhelming walk-ins we’ve ever experienced… a collector came in with tote after tote of vintage Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Star Wars, and Universal Monsters action figures, claiming the collection could be worth $10,000! From minty carded turtles, rare Shredders, Mondo Gecko, Krang, and April O’Neil figures to vintage Kenner Star Wars toys, the sheer volume had us stacking piles, pulling grades, and crunching numbers on the calculator. The seller didn’t want his kids to get into collecting and was ready to part with it all—but would the value match his expectations? We break it down figure by figure, showing how condition, grading, rarity, and even modern reissues affect the value of vintage toy collections. Some figures pulled strong numbers—over $200 a piece—while others tanked at $50. Collectors will appreciate the insights into why certain TMNT villains, Star Wars characters, and Universal Monsters crossovers rise or fall in the market. In the end, we had to make a tough offer: instead of the $10,000 he wanted, we landed closer to $6,500 for the entire collection. Was it fair? Did we undervalue or overpay? Watch and decide! This episode is packed with: A deep dive into vintage TMNT toy prices The influence of modern retro reissues on collector demand How grading works with carded action figures Why some Universal Monsters toys tanked in value A look at Star Wars figures vs. Ninja Turtles in collector markets If you love toy history, investing in collectibles, or just watching massive toy hauls come through the door, this is one episode you don’t want to miss. 👉 Don’t forget: September 5th–7th is our big toy show!
