Fullmetal Alchemist is known today as one of the pioneers of Early 2000's shounen, becoming one of the most successful mangas of all time and anime's of all time in it's 2009 anime FMA:Brotherhood. However, many have forgotten, intentionally or otherwise, about it's 2003 adaptation which differed heavily from it's Manga counterpart in the vein of animes like Fruits Basket 2001 and HunterxHunter 1999 before it and has gotten a reputation since then of being the inferior story. But is that truly the case?
