Lake Albert Lifeline: The story of a boat that is changing the face of Ntoroko
Kanara Town Council is the main urban centre of Ntoroko District, located in the Rwenzori sub-region in western Uganda on the southern shores of Lake Albert (locally called Mwitanzige), near Uganda’s border with the Democratic Republic of Congo. Kanara has become a convergence of people from every walk of life. Kanara Town Council lies Here; the Microfinance Support Center has supported the people of Ntoroko District through the Local Economic Growth Support Program. This remarkable story tells how locals are advancing from savings of just 6000 a week to 50000 shillings to raise an association worth 94 Millions in savings and in just 2 years.
