Doctor Bio I David Joosten, MD I Pediatric Physician

Dr. Joosten knew he was going to be a pediatrician when he was in 4th grade! His mother was a nurse from Switzerland and his father an electrician from the Netherlands. They instilled in him a desire to pursue excellence. Graduating from medical school in New York, he met the love of his life, Lauris (who is an elementary school teacher), and they proceeded to raise 6 children that arrived in the short space of only 6 years! They started with twin girls and then a young son who followed close behind. They then rapidly adopted 3 more children from Africa, Central America, & then finally, a little blind girl from China. Their family became a true United Nations! They took their children on multiple medical trips to the ghettos of Nicaragua to teach them about compassion and care in underserved areas. Dr. Joosten provides primary care for young people from birth to young adulthood up to age 22 years old.
