Today we are taking a look at Mandragora: Whispers of the Witch Tree, a crowdfunded title which mixes in more Souls-like combat. Players will embark on a quest to find a witch after absorbing another's powers. The journey through the run-down medieval world is fraught with danger, but after choosing one of six classes, you're more than equipped to circumvent it. To that effect, Mandragora offers a solid mix of combat and exploration, even if it's not top-in-class for either. The world-building also isn't too shabby, thanks to extensive ambient NPC dialogue and voice acting, though the platforming, progression and crafting systems could use some improvements. Nevertheless, if you're keen on a new platforming experience, Mandragora is worth checking out, warts and all.
