Went to Little Ferry and Loch Fleet, according to 'Walkhighlands': "Loch Fleet is a National Nature Reserve - a haven for wading birds as well as seals; the tide races through the narrows here at great speed at times. A couple of seats provide an opportunity for a rest; keep right by the shores to reach the corner where the coast turns north - from here, unless the tide is right in, the easiest walking is on the beach itself." We did well, last time we walked we lost the map and instructions. This time we forgot to take it with us and had the same problem with the phone, couldn't see the screen because it was too sunny. Basically, we kept on the beach side of the dunes, straying from the path now and again to get a closer look at the beach. I managed to capture a picture of a seal just before it disappeared under the waves. The tide was out so it was possible to walk down the beach but it was hard going on the sand and Robbie's hip was sore. Old age! We walked down as far as the stones on the beach where I took the shot of the oystercatcher - this is where we parted company from Walkhighlands, which would have taken us onto tarmac roads. We headed toward the wood and back to the car park via a path that was further away from the beach. There were plenty of wild flowers to see, plus a Skylar There were great views of Ben Bhraggie and the Duke of Sutherland's Monument 'The Wee Mannie'. You can also make out the duke's ancestral home Dunrobin Castle in the distance. We walked past an old forest of Scots pine and back to the car park. It was a short walk, about 2-3 miles, but a lovely walk. Relax, unwind and enjoy the walk from the serenity and comfort of your own armchair. More walks on Touchwood7 P.S. Does anyone read the script?
