We left the facilities of the Monastery of Santa María de Armenteira on a splendid morning to enjoy one of the most spectacular sections of the Spiritual Variant: the Ruta da Pedra e da Auga.This path accompanies the descent of the Rego de Armenteira along the profiles of Monte Castrove under the shelter of lush riverside vegetation, making its way through waterfalls, cascades and rapids and dotted with numerous century-old flour mills, witnesses of the rural past of the region.After passing the infrastructure of the Salnés AG-41 motorway, the river enters into areas of crops dominated by vineyards.
