Today, in this 2007 Chevrolet Silverado New Body, we're going to install part number 90885 from Tekonsha. This is a Prodigy P2 Brake Controller. To start of our install, we're going to ahead and look for the back view wiring harness underneath the dash of the vehicle. Sometimes, it will be easier to find and sometimes, it's tucked away in the back like this one is. Once we found it, we'll gently pull it down until we get access to our wires. When we pull it out, we discover we have five wires. The orange wire goes to the stop light that's above the cap, so we'll pull the orange wire out of the way. We will go ahead and cut our wires to length. Then we can go ahead and start installing a wire harness from our brake controller. We'll go ahead and connect white to white for ground, black to red with a black stripe for our 12-volt power supply. Then blue to blue for our brake controller output. Our red wire will go to our blue wire with a white stripe. Now, the brakes are switched . Once our connection is made, we'll go ahead and tape them up. We'll also add some our wire loom to our harness. For our wire look, we'll be using part number 459075-1. Then we'll go ahead and work our bracket for our brake controller. Often, on the far right-hand side, there's a small plastic tab that we can use to mount our controller tube. Then we'll use one of the cute little screws that comes with it. We'll use one of those screws for our first attachment point. We'll go ahead and run the screw in to hold it in place, and then we'll go ahead and add our second screw. Okay, your bracket is in place. Now, we'll take our wire harness, we'll run it through the back side and then plug it into the back of our brake controller. Make sure it clicks into place and then we'll go ahead and push the brake controller back into the pocket until it clicks into place. Now, we'll take some zip ties to go ahead and secure the wires to make sure they're safe and secure and out of the way. We'll need to get underneath the hood and hook up the wires for our power supply. Under the hood, we'll go to the power distribution box. If we look between the box and the Tinder-wheel, you'd see a red wire. Sometimes, it's really taped up so we can't see it next to the wire harness. Then we'll run it to the front of the junction box. We'll go ahead and take off the lid and in front, you'll see posts. We'll go ahead and mesh the eyelet to the post and then we'll go ahead and install a nut to hold it down. The nut we'll be using to secure the eyelet will be part number 185917. Now, while we're here, we'll go ahead and add a second wire, just a 12-volt power supply for our 7 pole connector on the back of the truck. We'll go ahead and reach down in each compartment along the main wire harness and go ahead and pull it out. Then we'll go ahead and install it onto the power distribution box as well. Now, we'll use a different size of nut, and that will be part number 185916. Once both our connections are secure, we'll go ahead and reinstall the cover. Now, we'll go ahead and check our brake controller. I see two lights at the bottom, which shows that we have power. When we move that manual override, we can see it has an NC for no connection. We'll go ahead and plug our trailer to it. It should show the letter C for connection. Then we'll go ahead and test the manual override and it should go through a range of numbers. To put a key on the arm position for the truck, we'll go ahead and press in the brake pedal, which you'll get a signal from there. In this case, we'll go to numbers of 2.1. With that, that will finish for our install of part number 90885, the Prodigy P2 Brake Controller on our 2007 Chevrolet Silverado New Body. .
