Shortcut virus is sort of malware which infect your USB and your data is kind of corrupt in it and recovering your data is pain in ass so. I am going to show you How to remove shortcut virus or sort of recover your data from your pendrive (USB) . So let’s see and know I am going to plug in my pendrive and here I have my pendrive so let’s see whether I have a shortcut virus or not so yeah as you can see I have a shortcut virus with name of my pendrive so now removing it by using . I am going to use a program called UsbFix you can also use Command prompt (cmd) but it’s easy to use a program like UsbFix it remove malware and also try to recover your data so let’s see . Do it. Say yes to UAC. Now accept the agreement. Now click on Research. And now click on the icon on the desktop but you need to do this, Run as Admin and say yes to UAC and now click on Clean, (UsbFix Closed the Explorer) so now as you can see in my pendrive I am able to recover my data and now that shortcut virus is gone. So yeah that’s it guys and removing shortcut virus and there is also a “Tip” I want to give you whenever you are plugging a Usb, Open Start menu and start typing AutoPlay and go under AutoPlay settings (Turn AutoPlay On or Off) and if this “On” Switch it “Off” so whenever you plug in a pendrive it will not trigger AutoPlay. So yeah that’s a tip I want to give and then you can right click on Removable Drive (Usb) and Scan with Antivirus (AV) or Malware program whatever you have.
