California Commercial Driver Handbook Chapter 2 DRIVING SAFELY 2.1-2.10 inclusive DMV Exam Prep Credit for the written book to the State of California & to the Department of Motor Vehicles for the publication of this material. I don’t own it in any way. I simply picked up the freely available book and transcribed it into audio and video for my use and for ease of study, to prepare for the state exam. I then thought this might also help someone else on YouTube to prepare for the exam. Since the material in the book is important, and as it is necessary that truck drivers be very familiar with the particulars that regulate their (our) careers, I thought I’d include what I’d made here. I don’t own this material. I only intend my effort and YouTube uploads as a service to other drivers, and those who may be interested in and considering the possibility of a career as a truck driver; to make the means of preparation more accesible. No plagiarism intended. However, the DMV has made the book available and free for pickup and use for exam study. I have seen other older versions of the commercial exam prep book on YouTube. I thought that I should be OK to make this available as a result of my own effort, as it doesn’t seem that an updated audio video is available. However, I am happy to comply with any mandates and, if there are any issues that arise from my attempts to assist anyone else, to encourage truck driving to others by presenting already-free materials in a more accessible (audio) format, and to educate the public about how to prepare to become a trucker, I’m happy to remove the video. I simply believe that truck driving is a very worthwhile job to have and that our country can always use more truck drivers. I hope anyone finds my effort useful. It’s that time again, time to renew my California Commercial Class A License with TX or hazmat/ tanker (X) and double-triple (T) endorsements. I made these videos for myself, reading from the California Commercial Drivers Handbook to help me prepare for the exam. I hope this will be helpful to other drivers and aspiring drivers. It has taken me a good many hours to not only record but to download from GoPro to my phone and then to upload from my phone to YouTube. Although this video shows as being some specified length, in actuality I have a good deal more time invested. I hope this helps someone. If you’re thinking of learning to drive a truck, this would be as good a place as any to start. Learning the Department of Motor Vehicles’ Commercial Exam test material is an extremely good place to start your journey, aside from also checking out truck driving schools. Truck driving provides an avenue of approach to participate in society with a legitimate skill, a means to generate an income to pay for both bills and life’s needs, thereby producing a productive member of society and taxpayer. It also provides an avenue of opportunity for entrepreneurially-minded persons to grow and scale their trade into an asset that allow self-employment. All of that starts here. I’m an audible learner. I thought transcribing this from a written to an audio version would help me to prepare more readily for the California written exam.
