Here's a link to the kit we used in the video: https://mossmotors.com/586-701-cp-upr... There are a lot of options to upgrade your classis Austin-Healey, Jaguar, Triumph, or whatever sportscar you drive. While we all know our vintage cars aren't as fast as a modern car, we sometimes forget that they also don't stop nearly as well. Modern brake upgrades are becoming more common, and many of them are even bolt-on affairs that require no modifications. For the Austin-Healey 3000 BT7 and BN7 though, most of the brake upgrades didn't fit--being made instead for the later BJ8 cars. Now, though, Moss Motors sells a kit from BCC that is a straight swap. Our question is... is it worth it? These kits are a lot of money, so we decided to put one to the test. The brakes in a Healey 3000 are sad. Like, orphan at Christmas sad. Sure, you can fit the brakes from a BJ8, but that requires pulling apart the uprights and disassembling the suspension, which gets pretty involved. We took our BT7, bolted on bigger calipers and pads... and unleashed the Healey's 3 liters for some performance driving at the Waumandee Time Trials!
