Construction is under way on a 54-unit housing complex near the border of the Hough neighborhood and University Circle on East 101th Street. Cleveland officials recently celebrated a ceremonial groundbreaking for Gordon Crossing. “The inner city, what we've come to know to be the inner city isn't going to be the inner city anymore,” declared Sheila Wright, the President and Co-Owner of Frontline Development Group. Developers Frontline & Woda Cooper are behind the Gordon Square project, combining mixed-income housing units together to build a stronger, more connected community. “You won't know which units are affordable, which units are market rate,” explained Wright. “Everyone will have the same luxury, the same opportunity to live with dignity.” The developers have teamed up again for a $28 million multiphase project called Allen Estates, with single homes and apartment buildings.
