Kalpana Soren यूसीसी, सीएए और एनआरसी जैसे विधेयकों के खिलाफ कड़ा रुख अख्तियार करने वाले झारखंड मुक्ति मोर्चा ने वक्फ बिल संशोधन विधेयक का भी पुरजोर विरोध किया है. पार्टी के महासचिव सुप्रियो भट्टाचार्य ने कहा कि ये बिल मुस्लिमों से संपत्ति की अधिकार छीनने की मंशा से लाया गया है. मुस्लिमों की जमीन छीन ली जायेगी. वक्फ संशोधन बिल पर झारखंड मुक्ति मोर्चा की प्रक्रिया के बाद सवाल उठे हैं कि क्या, केवल अपना वोट बैंक बचाने की खातिर पार्टी ने ऐसी प्रतिक्रिया दी है? क्या, मुस्लिम समुदाय को खुश करने के इरादे से ही, झामुमो ने वक्फ बिल संशोधन विधेयक 2025 का विरोध किया है? क्या, वक्फ बिल का विरोध करके मुस्लिमों को खुश करने की रणनीति में झामुमो ने आदिवासी हितों की अनदेखी कर दी है. कई सियासी जानकारों का ये भी सवाल है कि क्या झारखंड मुक्ति मोर्चा अपनी परंपरागत राजनीति के तहत ही वक्फ बिल का समर्थन कर रहा है. कहा जा रहा है कि आदिवासी हितों का ध्यान रखते हुए, गठबंधन धर्म से ऊपर उठकर झामुमो को इस बिल का समर्थन करना चाहिए था. कहा जा रहा है कि 2019 के मुकाबले 2024 में और भी प्रचंड जनादेश से जीते झामुमो की ऐसी मजबूरी भी नहीं रही है कि उसे कांग्रेस पार्टी के लाइन पर ही चलना होगा. राष्ट्रपचि चुनाव में द्रौपदी मुर्मू का समर्थन करना हो या फिर राज्यसभा चुनाव में महुआ माजी को उम्मीदवार बनाना, झामुमो ने पहले भी गठबंधन धर्म से ऊपर उठकर फैसला किया है.
