It's sold exclusively with 29" wheels, but you can run 27.5 plus wheels like I have on mine. I'll talk about the specs on my 2019 model, but will also talk about what's changed for the 2021 model year. This bike came specced with Octane One Solar rims laced to NS Rotary hubs and WTB Trail Boss tires. I didn't have that setup long as I easily tore the tires and eventually dented the rim. Those wheels were great and I probably dented them from my poor line choices. Currently running FSA Wheels with Teravail 2.8" tires and these things offer monster amounts of grip. The fork is a rockshox recon which uses 32mm stanchions and this is where it starts making sense that this bike is only $2,000. It's an ok fork that comes on a lot of entry level bikes, but those small stanchions can get overwhelmed pretty quickly in tough riding conditions. I also had to over pressurize this fork to make it feel decent. With the recommended air pressure for my weight it just felt far too spongy and squishy. Another low spec point are the brakes. These SRAM Level 2 piston brakes with 180mm rotors front and rear. As my bike sits right now it weighs 35.6 pounds, and these brakes just do not offer enough stopping power for this bike. Drivetrain is the SRAM NX Eagle 12 speed which has been....ok. I did have to replace the derailleur because the first one kind of just self destructed on a small climb. Still not sure how that happened, but I guess my legs are just super powerful! It originally came with an Xfusion Manic dropper post with 125mm of travel which was just way too short for a size large frame. I made a video last year about this as I swapped it to a PNW dropper with 170mm of travel. Much better! All the other components are NS branded and I've had no issues with any of them. So what's changed for the 2021 model year? The brakes and drivetrain have been changed to Shimano, and the larger size frames now comes with a 150mm dropper rather than 125mm. It also now comes with a Maxxis Minion and Aggressor tire combo. The color is now this really cool dark red, but the frame itself and everything else is basically the same. Speaking of the frame, this thing is a beauty, and where most of that 2 grand is going towards. It does have ISCG-05 mounts, bottle cage mounts on the downtube, and internal routing for the dropper post. The rest of the cables are routed externally, and I'm not crazy about the zip tie approach to keeping the cables in place. I noticed while filming the frame that I've actually lost a few zip ties and those cables are just free to flap about. I would prefer to see guides that the cable can route through without needing a zip tie. But enough about specs...let's talk about how it rides. I've had this bike for two years now and it's just an absolute pleasure to ride. The steel frame paired with the plus tires really does eliminate a lot of the harshness you would feel on aluminum hardtails. I actually preferred riding this bike over my old Jeffsy, and I still grab it for most local rides. 65 degree head tube angle with a 74 degree seat tube angle and 475mm reach in size large. While those numbers aren't as radical as some newer bikes like the Marin El Roy or Norco Torrent, I think the Eccentric geometry is a bit more well rounded. ns eccentric single speed,2021 ns eccentric,ns eccentric cromo,ns eccentric cromo geometry,ns eccentric geometry,ns eccentric cromo 29,ns bikes eccentric cromo,ns bikes eccentric cromo 29,ns eccentric steel,ns eccentric cromo 29 frame,ns eccentric cromo frame,ns hardtail, chromoly hardtail, steel hardtail weight, best budget steel hardtail, chromoly hardtail mountain bike, steel vs aluminum hardtail, best hardtail under 2000,best hardtail under 1000
