Behind Bars Interview: Shaun's Story | Prison Documentary

In this interview from our archive in a maximum security juvenile prison, 18-year old Shaun talked to us about his defiant attitude and his inability to follow rules. He discussed his history of fighting and the bad environment that seemed to shape his young life, ultimately landing him behind bars. He talked about looking up to older neighborhood youth who found ways to make money and move out of the neighborhood, and also talked about he and his siblings being raised by his dad. He told our cameras he had teachers who tried to get him on the right path but he never wanted to listen. He said he learned how to commit crimes while out on the streets.
