Update from the Stone Carving Studio. Doing my best to get all my projects finished before winter is here. I started developing my first soapstone carving online course. My hope is to help beginners get started with soapstone carving. Aside from that I had a few other projects to complete before it gets too cold. View my original stone carvings here: https://andrewgableart.com/ Stone Carver Stories After 10 days carving marble in Puerto Vallarta I returned back home to Canada. From the sweltering heat to crisp autumn mornings. Its October now and I have to think about WINTER which is just around the corner. I only have so many carving days left and I wanted to be strategic with my business so I decided to do something that I had thought about doing for a while. I spent a week filming my entire process of carving a small soapstone grizzly bear which I will use to develop an introduction to soapstone online course. Its been really fun to start thinking about how to educate and share my caving process in a practical and structured way to help others get started or improve there own carving expression. I packaged and shipped off my small polar bear commission which I received word today that it arrived safe and sound! I also spent a day doing some repairs on my offering hands piece that I carved out of Italian marble while in PV. This piece is so different than a lot of the work I’ve been doing in recent years which I really love! I’ve also been getting firewood prepped for the winter months and cold days to come. The last few days I started work on my Standing Grizzly Bear again. This piece has now just about seen every season as I started this one last spring. It will likely get to see some snow but my hope is to have this piece finished before winter. They are calling for SNOW on Monday. Get Ready. #soapstonecarving
