Grand Cayman Excursion: Swimming in Stingray City, Snorkeling in Coral Gardens & Starfish Point

Episode 5: Port of Grand Cayman Puppies of the Sea. Snorkeling. Starfish. When our ship,‪@Carnival‬Vista arrived in Grand Cayman, it anchored out at sea and we boarded a water shuttle to get to port, because it is a tender port. Prior to our cruise, we booked a 3-stop shore excursion with a local guide,‪@nativewaywatersports1097‬. Once we got off the water shuttle, we found our tour guide and jumped on a shuttle bus which took us to the Grand Cayman Yacht Club, where we boarded a smaller boat for our shore excursion. Our first stop was Stingray City Sandbar where we swam with and held Southern Atlantic stingrays, which are considered one of the friendliest and most playful species in the waters surrounding the Cayman Islands. They are actually nicknamed, “puppies of the sea.” Fun fact, if you kiss a stingray, it brings 7 years of good luck! Then we snorkeled in Coral Gardens and visited Starfish Point to hold, you guessed it, starfish! This Grand Cayman shore excursion was truly an amazing experience! We could’ve swam with the stingrays and snorkeled for hours, if we didn’t have to get back to our ship so soon! Thank you for a wonderful experience, Native Way Watersports!
