The ETS Holiday Train!

On December 20, 2025, Edmonton Transit Service ran their very first Holiday Train! Inspired by the popular CPKC Holiday Train, ETS decorated their 1949 General Electric 45 Ton diesel electric powered work locomotive #2010 and an assortment of work cars with fancy decorations and ran the specially configured train southbound down the Capital Line spreading holiday cheer at select stations. SD160 #1071 was also there to lead the Holiday Train and collect donations of winter clothing on behalf of the United Way for those who need them the most in our community. It was definitely a night to remember and many Edmontonians showed up to take pictures, drop off donations and celebrate the incredible occasion with their families. Enjoy the video!
