It’s Small Dog Day at the Farm!!! Woohoo!! The dogs were super excited this morning and nothing could start before cuddles. Cuddles, cuddles and more cuddles! We welcomed Poppy the Toy Poodle to our pack. Poppy was very nervous and shy to begin with, as she hasn’t had much socialisation. With a little walking on lead through the bush on our Nosework hunt she soon joined the pack and relaxed and was then able to have some fun with some dogs her own size! The little dogs loved the bush hunt! We then made it back to the playground for Pee Wee chasing, flirt pole and big ball herding! Elle and Evie joined the pack ... today is their favourite day! We had a couple of firsts in the pool today for Small Dog Day ... Atlas the Mini Dachshund jumped off the dock and so did ... 🥁... Minnie Cavalier!!!! Wahhhhh?! Minnie Moo!!! Jumping in after her Uncle Luke! Big well done to Atlas and Minnie today! The pool session is by far Cooper and Chloe’s favourite thing at the farm. They hang out all day literally for it. Chloe tells us about it too for most of the day ..”Uncle Luke, when are we swimming in the pool?!!” She loves it so much, and when she gets there she sure makes the most of it! As a part of our ‘Farm Dogs in the Spotlight’ series we talked about Cooper the Mini Labradoodle today. Cooper is 4 years old and has been coming to the farm for just over a year now. When he first came to the farm Cooper was quite shy and didn’t have much water confidence. Cooper spent a holiday over Summer with us and during that time he had 4 private swim lessons. His first lesson we struggled to get him to step off the side of the pool. Fast forward to today and Cooper’s most favourite thing to do is swim in the pool. He hangs out all day. He even dock dives! And he’s very good at it, because he loves it! At the end of each day, when the swim session is over, he sits on the dock and looks at Luke as all the dogs run out the gate. He waits for that one last go he and Luke have. Every time, without fail.
