Wallace's DISASTROUS Mistake: The Battle of Falkirk 1298 A.D.

Fraters of the Legion, let us travel back to medieval Britannia! No, we are not going to conquer Londinium this time. It is 1298 AD, and Scotland is up in arms to resist English rule by King Edward I. William Wallace, the Guardian of Scotland, leads the Scots to countless raids on English castles all over Scotland. The recent victory at the Battle of Stirling heightens the morale of Wallace's men. However, King Edward is determined to capture Wallace, dead...or alive... The 2 armies meet at Falkirk, and a chaotic battle ensues. The result is a disastrous defeat for the Scots and a crushing victory for the English. Wallace resigns as Guardian of Scotland, and Scotland now is under English rule once again... In 1305, Wallace was captured and executed by being hanged, drawn, and quartered. However, though he died a brutal death, Scots everywhere in the highlands proclaimed him a martyr for the cause. Finally, in 1328, Scotland regained her deserved freedom from the English, this time under her new king, Robert the Bruce. This is the first time I've actually used Medieval 2 Total War as the engine for this historical cinematic battle. Specifically, I used the M2TWK Britannia expansion and man, it was worth it. DISCLAIMER: Though I meticulously researched the Battle of Falkirk and tried to use historically accurate units, Total war doesn't really do much to emphasize on historically accurate units. CA needs REAL HELP fr fr. The tact maps and animation of the key positions of the Scots and English respectively I owe much to ‪@HistoryMarche‬. Check out his channel and give him a like and sub as well! Once again fellow legions, enjoy the battle, and leave a like and a subscribe!
