This time I visited Tashiro Island (Tashirojima), known as one of the most famous cat islands in Japan. Tashiro Island is a small island located in Ishinomaki City, Miyagi Prefecture, about 40 minutes by ferry from the Port of Ishinomaki. On this island, hundreds of cats live in harmony with the islanders, and cats are very much cherished as the guardian gods of great catches. It is truly a paradise for cat lovers.
