Only the last has large-scale, immediate implications for what we do, so this is the one we chose debate. Should we agree with the Conservative National Review that the war is far from over, that " September 11 thrust the United States into a generation-long conflict: It is our Thirty Years', perhaps our Hundred Years' War." Or with Gideon Rachman in the Financial Times that "The death of bin Laden gives President Barack Obama the cover he needs to start quietly unwinding" the mistakes of Bush's ill-considered war on terror?
