Following the Coal Miners strike Trade Unions within the UK lost a lot of power and the nationalised coal industry was reduced massively. There was often battles between the police and miners during the strike. However, the media was very biased against the strikes until channel four filmed from the miners perspective. The video looks at the impact of the UK Miner's strike made to the miners families and the impact it had n families and communities are often over looked. The Coal industry is still active today however, not to the scale that it was in the 1970's and 80's.
