In this episode, @etj.holalife, we explore one of the most underrated and undervalued national parks in the system: Badlands National Park in South Dakota. It is located about 100 miles from Mount Rushmore and 65 miles from Custer State Park! Click the link to check out our adventure to these two top destinations as well! We had many questions before we decided to visit; It’s a 3-hour drive roundtrip from Rapid City. Is it worth the drive? What is there to do there aside from the views? Are the views and the hikes worth the drive? Will the kids have a good time? Why is it less popular than others? Can we survive the hikes with the kids? We decided to find out for ourselves and make it to Badlands National Park. We survived! From almost running out of gas to coming up close to incredible wildlife to feeling like we were walking on another planet, we couldn’t get enough of it. So we drove back a second time during our stay and spent another afternoon hiking and driving the park’s other areas. Plus, we can’t wait to return and see if we can find some fossils! Watch along as we discover mysterious landscapes, spot some cool wildlife, learn about the rich history, and breathe in the fresh air on the most incredible rock formations and sediments.
