Hi all, So this week i have headed down to Maidstone Model Engineering Society based in Mote Park, Maidstone. I haven't been back since last year (June) for their Friday night steam up but was quite surprised with how many locos were there for running in the day, you had narrow garage, free-lance to standard gauge so was put it simply. It was more like a mini gala! . The Traffic-Controller of the day offered me the chance to have a go on a 5" DCC fitted Class 37 around the track which i thoroughly enjoyed and was offered the chance to drive a 5" Gauge Stanier Mogul! (if I had more experience i would of yes but for another time) followed by some linesiding from some angles that I've never tried but very satisfying, all in all a fantastic visit as always to MMES and thanks to the club for allowing me in the steaming bays and having a go! .
