After facing challenges with my pedalboard on a European tour, I decided enough was enough and ordered a Quad Cortex. I spent 7 months refining my tone in the unit; trying out different fx, routings, and captures to see if I could re-create the tone of my go-to pedals on my board: the Walrus Audio Deep Six Compressor, JHS Bender Fuzz, Jackson Audio Belle Starr, JHS Moonshine, Strymon Mobius, Strymon Timeline, Strymon Bigsky, and Walrus Audio ACS1. I’ll walk you through the troubleshooting process, how the CorOS 3.0.0 update improved my experience, and how I ultimately achieved tones that made me leave my pedalboard behind and commit fully to the amp modeling revolution.
